SUS
Referral
Emergency
SUS (Brazil’s National Health System) orders that a citizen’s care must be performed according to a hierarchy of units (from basic level to high complexity) and the patient’s referral and reverse referral between them must be at the premises of the health care service that the citizen needs.
This means that the first care must be performed in the health care service of their area or the area where they currently are, such as an AMA (Outpatient Medical Care) or a regional emergency room.
-
1º
Look for the health care service of your area or the area where you currently are, such as an AMA (Outpatient Medical Care) unit.
-
2º
If the clinical condition is serious, the physician of the unit where the citizen was served will contact the Controlling Shift at the Hospital das Clínicas teaching hospital.
-
3º
Hospital das Clínicas contacts InCor’s emergency room for the patient’s transfer.
-
4º
A transfer thus takes place to InCor’s Emergency Clinical Unit on an authorized ambulance.
Are you being treated at InCor?
The nearest health care services must also be sought by those patients in an outpatient treatment at InCor.
This will not change the routine of periodical appointments and the medical exams, which will continue normally as scheduled.
